The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is now available for download on the Nintendo 3DS eShop or DSi Shop, and it's also free to download until Feb. 20th 2012! Far from a port, this updated version of Four Swords boasts a new single player mode and the ability to enter the multiplayer with only two players as opposed to four.
Four Swords has a larger single player experience as well with two new areas slot with three levels each. The mode tags you with another different colored Link that follows you around and you can achieve results with. You can switch between Links as necessary and if one gets separated from the other you can warp them to you.

Greedy little bastards!
Of course the real meat and potatoes of the game is in the multiplayer mode. Here players can run around levels trying to gather as many rupees as you can. In the frantic competitive environment you can find items and enemies on your rupee quests while trying to interfere, sabotage or even assist the other players around you. All in all not a bad deal to help celebrate you're the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series!
