First Beta Weekend Event will be from April 27-29.

You can participate if you pre-purchase the game (Not pre-order, alas.)

If you buy the physical collector's edition, you are supposed to get a code in advance of the actual box.

I got the DDE, since it has all the same digital goodies.

I'll probably just go with the regular edition.
All this happened... more, or less.

Launcher for client can be downloaded:

Create a folder you want for the game and download the patcher into it from here > http://cloudfront.guildwars2.com/client/Gw2.exe

I can't remember if you can start without logging in (for which you would have had to register a purchase key.)

Why does work have to interfere with my game time?

Tried to buy the digital deluxe edition but... they're sold out.

They said they had limited the keys because of limited server availability on the beta weekend, but they would have more as they figured out how much capacity they could open up. (maybe not too much, since the servers are down now.)

So far I really like the game. It has some flaws (not including beta-type issues), but it looks great, combat is both interesting and surprisingly hard.

What I like the most is everyone is on the same side and cooperates - no kill steals, ninja looting, grabbing resource nodes - all that is engineered out.

The event system is not too different from normal questing, but it does get people playing together in ad-hoc teams and groups.

WvW is simply amazing. God, I would love to see the concepts in STO.

I know there was a limited key restriction, I tried to get it on Thursday, but no it didn't like ie 8 which we use at work and I couldn't do it at home as I wasn't home that evening. So I guess I'll have to wait.

If you get a chance to play the next Beta event, do it just to try World vs World. Huge battles with 20 players and a siege golem attacking a keep defended by cannons = awesome+sauce.

Damn this game is good. I did mostly WvW - crazy fun.

No face-rolling in PvE either - you dodge or get killed.
